Dr. Burey Profile

I am a behavioural pediatrician and have been practicing in the Windsor region for over 20 years. I have also had the privilege of providing care for patients in Northern Ontario. Over the years, my scope of practice has ranged from: NICU to Acute Care General Pediatrics, Child Abuse to Eating Disorders, and inpatient/outpatient Child Psychiatry.

Pediatricians have been at the forefront of advocacy initiatives and have long understood that connections and networks in the wider community are the essential ingredients to our patient’s success and wellness. That is why spearheading ADHD Windsor for the past 12 years has been some of my most rewarding work.

Most recently, I had the the privilege of serving as the President of the Pediatricians Alliance of Ontario (PAO) which is also the Ontario chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). I am a member of the Ontario Medical Association's Health Policy Committee, a former pediatrics delegate to the OMA Council, and a former committee member of the OMA Outreach to Women's Physicians Committeee.

I attended the University of Western Ontario where I received a Bachelor of Science in Biology. I received my medical degree from Dalhousie University and completed a residency in Pediatrics at the IWK hospital in Halifax. I am now completing a Mini-MBA in Physician Business Leadership at York University—and in 2011 was in the first cohort of the Physician Leadership Development Program that was created in partnership with the Ontario Medical Association, the Canadian Medical Association, and York University. Last but not least, I am an Adjunct Professor of Pediatrics at Western University.
